How long does Invisalign take?
Orthodontic treatment times vary from patient to patient, but most Invisalign cases take about 12 to 18 months. Because clear aligners are used to correct mild to moderate orthodontic issues, some patients complete their treatments in six months, but it’s not uncommon for treatment times to be closer to 24 months either. The best way to ensure that your treatment is quick and effective is by wearing your aligners as often as possible, which means 22 to 23 hours per day.
Are clear aligners painful?
If you had metal braces as a teenager, you may remember the soreness that ensued after your braces were put on or after they were tightened at the orthodontist’s office. This happens because the teeth start moving almost right away, so if your clear aligners cause some tenderness in your gums, it’s really a good thing! If you experience some pain after getting new aligners, you can try taking over-the-counter pain medication, eating cold foods like popsicles, or swishing with warm salt water every couple of hours. The soreness should subside after a few days.
Can I afford Invisalign?
Many insurance plans do cover some costs associated with orthodontic treatments, but because it’s a cosmetic service, it is not always completely covered by insurance. Robinson Dental Group accepts cash, check, and most major debit and credit cards. We also offer flexible financing through CareCredit® and LendingClub, which allow patients to split up the cost of their orthodontic treatments into manageable monthly payments with little to no interest.
